How To Clean And Care For Evolve’s Artisanal Panels and Special Finish Coated Surfaces

General Care

The long-term appearance and durability of artisanal panels and special finishes depend on proper care and maintenance. Following these guidelines will help preserve the finish and ensure optimal performance over time.

  • Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive chemicals, and solvents that may damage or alter the surface coating.
  • Do not use sharp objects, abrasive pads, or rough cleaning tools, as these can permanently scratch or damage the finish.
  • Panels made using pure Brass, Bronze, Copper and Iron are not recommended for outdoor use, as prolonged exposure to UV light and weather conditions may cause oxidation, discoloration, and natural aging.
  • Protect the surfaces from direct sunlight, standing water, excessive moisture, and prolonged humidity exposure.

Routine Cleaning

Dust Removal

  • Clean regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or feather duster.
  • Avoid abrasive cloths or cleaning tools that may scratch the surface.

Spill Management

  • Wipe up spills immediately using a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not allow liquids to remain on the surface for extended periods.
  • Remove chemical substances, alcohol, and other potentially damaging liquids as soon as they come into contact with the finish.

Environmental Considerations

Temperature Fluctuations

  • Extreme temperature changes can cause expansion and contraction of surface coatings, potentially leading to cracking or finish failure.
  • Maintain stable indoor temperatures whenever possible.
  • Use heat-resistant mats, coasters, or trivets under hot dishes, cookware, and beverages to prevent heat damage.

Humidity and Moisture

  • Excessive moisture, steam, and high humidity can damage surface coatings and may cause cracking over time.
  • If moisture penetrates beneath the coating, white marks or discolouration may develop.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water and ensure surfaces remain dry whenever possible.

Direct Sunlight

  • Limit exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading, bleaching, discolouration, and premature ageing of the finish.
  • Prolonged UV exposure may also cause the surface coating and substrate materials to dry unevenly, potentially resulting in surface checking, cracking, or coating deterioration.

Removing Dirt and Grease

  • For light dirt or greasy marks, clean the surface promptly using a soft cloth dampened with water.
  • Dry the surface immediately after cleaning.
  • Avoid excessive moisture and never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals.

Best Practices

✔ Use soft, non-abrasive cleaning materials only.
✔ Clean spills immediately.
✔ Maintain stable indoor temperature and humidity levels.
✔ Use protective mats for hot items.
✔ Keep surfaces away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture.

✘ Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
✘ Do not use sharp tools or abrasive pads on finished surfaces.
✘ Do not allow water, steam, or chemicals to remain on the surface.
✘ Do not install Pure Brass, Bronze, or Copper finishes in exterior applications.
